В статье представлена реконструкция исторического материализма, предпринятая основателем научной школы аналитического марксизма Дж.A. Коэном. Обращаясь к фундаментальным категориям марксисткой теории истории, Дж.A. Коэн предлагает свою оригинальную трактовку концепций производительных сил, производственных отношений и надстройки с помощью методологического инструментария аналитической философии, логического позитивизма и функциональных объяснений, при этом отрицая наличие особого диалектического метода в марксизме.

The article presents G.A. Cohen’s reconstruction of historical materialism. G.A. Cohen was the founding member of Analytical Marxism school of thought. Considering the fundamental categories of Marxist theory of history, G.A. Cohen offers his original interpretation of the concepts of productive forces, production relations and superstructure. He applies the techniques of analytic philosophy, logical positivism and functional explanation and denies the existence of a special Marxist dialectical method.
