Abstract

Notable events of the late twentieth century (collapse of the USSR, the liquidation of the Warsaw Pact, the processes of democratization total market, a catastrophic reduction of the army) have questioned the existence of Russia as an independent state and civilization. Thus arose Stalingrad abroad (“nowhere to retreat, another land we have”) in modern Russia.
