Abstract
Joachim Wach (1898-1955), one of classics of religious studies, devoted much of his scientific life to the study of sociological aspects of religious experience, the social functions of religion, the development of sociological challenges of systematic religious and sociological implications of the research methodology of religion. The article presents basic concept of the sociology of religion German-American religious scholar.
